Mercury Vapor Released From Dental Fillings
All amalgam restorations, also commonly referred to as silver fillings, contain approximately 50% mercury in addition to other metals. Research has demonstrated that Mercury vapor is released from dental amalgam fillings at higher rates during brushing, cleaning, clenching of teeth, chewing, etc.
